The Foundation Theatregroup Esperanza develops and presents music-and theatreproductions in which equality of people, with respect for eachothers differences is stimulated.


Nadja Filtzer, singer and performer is the dynamic centrepoint of this foundation. From 2001 she produced and played in many theatrical concerts, performances and acts for special occasions.

Looking for her inner self, a young woman from Amsterdam dives into her family history, therebye giving her roaming heart a place to plant her roots.

With a suitcase full of dreams Nadja Filtzer tempts her public. In My Roaming Heart she tells the story of a roaming family through music, movement and image. A musical journey around the world from Ukraïne, to America, Mexico and Holland. From Nostalgia to Utopia, seen through the perspective of a mother, a painter, a refugee and a photographer.

The history in My Roaming Heart is part of Nadja's personal and musical identity. She weaves past, present, dreams and desires into a tragicomic story of our time. She moves fluently between musical styles; chansons, bossa nova, tango, Jazz and East European music, and languages; English, Russian, Yiddish, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Brazilian Portuguese.
The show can be performed in English or Spanish.
